On July 11, 2026, the National Teaching Conference on the Cultivation of Undergraduate Students in Chemical Engineering Specialties of Petroleum-related Universities, as well as the Second Offline Conference of the Virtual Teaching Office for Chemical Engineering and Technology and the Virtual Teaching Office for Petroleum Processing Courses, were held at China University of Petroleum (Beijing), more than 50 teachers from 14 jointly-built universities attended the meeting.
The meeting focused on the cultivation of professionals in the chemical industry in the context of the digital and intelligent empowerment era, the main venue was chaired jointly by Professor Zhang Xiangping from China University of Petroleum (Beijing) and Professor Liu Xinmei from our university. Professor Huang Shouying from Tianjin University, Associate Professor Wang Kai from Tsinghua University, and Professor Liu Qingya from Beijing University of Chemical Technology, Professor Deng Chun from China University of Petroleum (Beijing) respectively presented "Exploration of World-Class Chemical Engineering Talent Cultivation and AI Empowerment", "New Paradigm for Interdisciplinary Education of AI+ChE Students from Tsinghua University's Chemical Engineering Department", "Exploration of Elite Innovation Talent Cultivation in the Field of Advanced Chemical Engineering and Its Application at Beijing University of Chemical Technology", "Enabling Teaching Innovation and Practice of Chemical Engineering Undergraduate Courses through Artificial Intelligence", and shared the successful experiences of various universities in terms of professional development, integration of courses with artificial intelligence, etc. The attending teachers were deeply inspired and actively discussed the construction directions of intelligent agents in the chemical engineering field and the AI-assisted teaching of various courses.

This seminar held two sub forums for the virtual teaching research office, Professor Jin Xin from our university presided over the virtual seminar forum for the Chemical Engineering and Technology major, seventeen teacher representatives from the jointly-built universities respectively presented their experiences, the content covers multiple aspects including the construction of smart courses (such as "Petroleum Refining Engineering", "Chemical Engineering Principles", "Chemical Thermodynamics", etc.), management and construction of chemical laboratories, course ideological education, industrial colleges, and practical teaching, which covers professional development and regional integration, ranging from the reform of course content and teaching methods to the implementation of engineering practice-based education models. The attending teachers engaged in a lively exchange and discussion, learned the specific practices of other industry-related universities, and conducted in-depth discussions on the issues of concern.




The virtual teaching research office for Chemical Engineering and Technology, which is led by Professor Liu Xinmei of our university, was selected in 2022 as one of the first batch of professional construction-type virtual teaching and research rooms in the country, and was awarded the title of "2025 Annual Typical Virtual Teaching Research Office". The successful holding of this offline meeting has facilitated the revision of the training program for chemical engineering majors in petroleum-related universities and the establishment of the curriculum system, and it has laid a solid foundation for the reform and practice of core and distinctive courses, it fully exerted the leading and exemplary effect of the virtual teaching research group as a cross-temporal and cross-school teaching development community, become the innovative engine of the integrated strategy for education technology talents in the teaching front line.
