In order to further consolidate the education and training foundation for students majoring in environmental science, accurately solve the problems of education, and unite the forces for education, on the afternoon of April 1st, the College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering held a special symposium on student education and training in Conference Room A121 of the Engineering Building. The deputy secretary of the college's Party committee, Xu Guanghui, the representative of the teachers from the Department of Environment and Safety Engineering, and the counselors from all grades attended the meeting.

During the academic situation briefing session, the undergraduate and graduate counselors successively analyzed the current learning development status of the environmental science students based on the student source data, academic performance data, and employment data, the main points covered were the prominent problems existing among students of different grades in terms of learning motivation, professional cognition, and research practice. The participants engaged in in-depth discussions on the establishment of the collaborative education mechanism and the cultivation of students' comprehensive competitiveness. Consensus was reached in the areas of health and mental well-being education, professional identity education, industry career perception, and the enhancement of sustainable development competitiveness. Xu Guanghui discussed the development prospects of the environmental field by integrating the industry's development trends and the demands for talents, and suggested that the department clearly define the quality and ability indicators for student training, by coordinating and promoting the development of the first classroom and the second classroom, the quality of student cultivation can be improved.

This symposium further clarified the educational philosophy and identified the key points for the differentiated training of undergraduate and graduate students, it embodies the collective efforts of the teachers, counselors and management team of the department. This has laid a solid foundation for further optimizing the training plan for environmental professionals and improving the quality of talent cultivation.
