On April 16, 2026, Jiang Pengfe, Vice General Manager of Lanzhou Petrochemical Company and a group of seven-member delegation visited our institute, the two parties held a technical exchange meeting in the A121 conference room of the engineering department. The meeting launched in-depth discussions on key technologies in the fields of oil refining, biochemistry, fine chemicals, and double carbon, aiming to deepen the cooperation between schools and enterprises, and promote the transformation of scientific and technological achievements and industrial upgrading, and inject new impetus into the high-quality development of the petrochemical industry. The meeting was chaired by Hao Zhijie, the Party Secretary of the college, the vice dean of the college, Chen Xiaobo, along with experts such as Professor Tian Yuanyu, Wang Yanzhen, Yang Junwei, Ning Hui, Zhao Qingshan, Lu Yuchao, Fu Jianyue, Li Dawei, Wang Ming, Cao Jianlin, and Leng Xiaoyan, among other teachers representatives, participated in the discussion.

Hao Zhijie delivered a welcome speech, introducing the achievements of the college in terms of discipline construction, scientific research innovation and talent cultivation, emphasizing that school enterprise cooperation is an important way to promote the integration of industry, education and research. Jiang Pengfei, the deputy general manager and chief engineer of Lanzhou Petrochemical Company, then introduced the industrial layout, technical needs and future development plans of Lanzhou Petrochemical Company, expressing the urgent desire to work together with colleges and universities to solve technical problems. The core part of the meeting was the group communication. Experts and scholars from both sides conducted in-depth discussions on 14 technologies in four major fields. The experts presented at the meeting focused on technologies such as energy saving and efficiency improving of tubular furnaces, the production of lithium battery carbon anodes from high-sulfur petroleum coke, recycling of FCC waste catalysts, etc, and discussed cost reduction and efficiency improvement as well as green transformation in the oil refining process; regarding the aspects of biomass-based porous carbon, CO2 conversion and utilization, and oil-containing sludge resource utilization, explore the application paths of low-carbon technologies in the petrochemical industry; regarding the one-step methanol-acetic acid methyl ester process for the production of MMA, the discussion focuses on pilot-scale testing and the prospects for industrialization.
This meeting is an important practical demonstration of the complementary advantages between the school and the enterprise, as well as a collaborative innovation effort. China University of Petroleum (East China) will leverage its research and talent advantages to provide technical support for Lanzhou Petrochemical; Lanzhou Petrochemical provides industrial scenarios and practical platforms for universities, jointly contributing to the green and low-carbon transformation of the petrochemical industry. Both parties stated that they will establish a regular communication mechanism in the future, deepen cooperation in areas such as technological research and development, and talent cultivation, contribute to the high-quality development of China's petrochemical industry.
