National Award + 1 Our College has achieved another outstanding result at the national "Challenge Cup" competition

On November 3rd, the 19th "Challenge Cup" National College Students' Extracurricular Academic and Technological Works Competition came to a successful conclusion at Nanjing University. Under the guidance of Professors Pan Yuan, Xu Guanghui and Wang Xingwei from our instituteThe project "Development and Application of Porous Carbon-Based Catalysts for Air/O2 Electrodes in High-Efficiency Fuel Cells," led by graduate student Li Jiaye (Class of 2024) and supervised by Professors Pan Yuan, Xu Guanghui, and Wang Xingwei from our institute, won the Bronze Award in the main competition, achieving another outstanding result in national-level competitions.

The "Challenge Cup" National College Students' Extracurricular Academic and Technological Works Competition is hailed as the "Olympic" event of college students' scientific and technological innovation. This competition is jointly organized by the Communist Youth League Central Committee, the China Association for Science and Technology, the Ministry of Education, the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, the All-China Students' Federation and the Jiangsu Provincial Governmentchaired by Nanjing University,It aims to provide support for achieving the goal of building China into a sci-tech powerhouse by 2035 and meeting the talent demand for achieving greater self-reliance and strength in science and technology through competition-driven mechanisms. The event has established a comprehensive competition structure comprising the main event, the "Unveiling the List" special competition, and the "AI Plus" special competition, focusing on cultivating students' innovation capabilities in science and technology, stimulating their enthusiasm for technological innovation, and inspiring the majority of young people to strive to become pioneers and the main force in scientific and technological innovation. Since its launch, it has attracted over 400,000 works from more than 2,700 universities across the country, as well as over 3 million students to participate.

During the preparation for the "Challenge Cup" competition, our college attached great importance to it and meticulously organized the event, demonstrating a strong support and deep participation in the field of innovation and entrepreneurship. Since the start of the competition, the college has established a special working group, with the college leaders taking the lead personally, it gathers a team of teachers with rich experience in providing guidance on innovation and entrepreneurship, provide all-round and multi-level guidance and support for the participating students. By holding multiple specialized training sessions on project planning, pitch presentation skills, and business plan writing, and inviting industry experts and previous outstanding winners to share their experiences, effectively enhanced the project quality and competitive level of the participating teams. The project "Research and Application of Porous Carbon-Based Catalysts for Air/O2 Electrodes in High-Efficiency Fuel Cells" has won the national award in the main competition, this is a manifestation of the long-term achievements of the college in adhering to innovation-driven strategies and deepening entrepreneurship education, this further strengthened the college's determination and confidence in continuously promoting the high-quality development of its innovation and entrepreneurship work.
