Our college students have once again achieved excellent results in AIChE Chem-E-Car Friendship Competition

Recently, the 2025 AIChE Chem-E-Car Friendship Competition for the Asia-Pacific Region and the China University Students' Chem-E-Car Competition were held at Tianjin University. Eleven students from our school, including Liu Hangqi and Wang Jiaxin, represented the school in the competition and achieved outstanding performance among the 37 participating teams，and because of the outstanding design concept and petroleum-themed elements of the car，won the Best Video Award. The competition instructor is Ning Hui.

The Chem-E-Car competition is a comprehensive chemical engineering science competition organized by the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) for college students worldwide, It is held once a year, the aim is to enhance the research innovation and practical application skills of undergraduate students majoring in chemical engineering, cultivate innovative and comprehensive talents in the field of chemical engineering. The competition requires the participating teams to design and build a small car by themselves, powered by chemical reactions, and it is precisely controlled through chemical reactions,In the competition, comprehensive consideration of various factors such as energy, environment and safety is necessary for innovative design. Our school, as one of the main initiators of this event in China, since participating in the first China Undergraduate Chem-E-Car Competition in 2017, has participated in 9 consecutive editions. This year's Chem-E-Car competition of our university was organized by the AIChE student association of the Chemical Engineering College, the registration stage attracted 128 students majoring in fields such as chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, computer science, automation, new energy, materials science, and economics and management to participate, after going through multiple stages such as free team formation, proposal competition, experimental production, and school-level competition, finally, a team was selected from the entire school to represent our school in the national competition, the entire process took 10 months to complete. It has fully enhanced students' teamwork skills, experimental operation abilities and research innovation capabilities.

This competition is organized by the Chinese Chemical Society and the Higher Education Chemical Engineering Professional Teaching Committee of the Ministry of Education.,more than 30 top chemical engineering universities, including Tianjin University, Tsinghua University, Dalian University of Technology, East China University of Science and Technology, Zhejiang University and Sichuan University, participated,at the same time, four international teams from Malaysia and Indonesia were also invited to participate.
