Recently, the Science and Technology Department of Shandong Province issued the "Project Approval Notice for Key Research and Development Plans of Shandong Province (Projects for Serving Shandong through the '14th Five-Year Plan' by Provincial Universities Affiliated to the Central Government)". The project "Development and Industrial Application of Key Technologies for High-End Electrode Char", jointly applied for by Professor Hu Han, associate Professor Yang Junwei, and Professor Liu Bin from our institute, and the Shandong Lianhua New Materials Co., Ltd., has been successfully approved for funding.

The total budget for this project is 50 million yuan, among them, 10 million yuan was allocated from the provincial budget, Self-raised funds of 40 million yuan. The project focuses on high-end electrode carbon, which is a key foundational material supporting China's green and low-carbon transformation, focus on the current bottlenecks in the production process, The focus is on conducting research on raw material hydrogenation pre-treatment, variable-temperature coking processes, and intelligent control of the production process, the aim is to establish a complete production technology system with low costs, short processes and strong controllability, and it was transformed into a 50,000-ton/year variable-temperature coking plant, realize industrial-scale demonstration production of high-end electrode ceramics.
