From July 11th to 14th, the 8th National College Students' Chemical Experiment Competition of the North China Region was held at Jining University. The competition was divided into three parts: theoretical knowledge of chemical engineering principles, laboratory experiments and process simulation, and practical operation of chemical engineering experiments. After a fierce competition, the team representing our university, composed of Tan Xiaomeng, Guan Deye and He Jing from the College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, won the third place in the group competition of the North China Region, the special prize of the region, and successfully advanced to the national final. At the same time, they also won two first prizes, two second prizes and one third prize in individual categories. The national finals will be held at South China University of Technology from August 8th to 11th.
The National College Students' Chemical Experiment Competition is a national-level event organized by the China Chemical Education Association. Its purpose is to promote the "new engineering" construction of chemical engineering majors in higher education institutions, improve the teaching quality of core courses in undergraduate chemical engineering programs, and at the same time stimulate the enthusiasm of college students for learning. In 2023, this event was officially included in the competition list published by the China Association of Higher Education in the "2023 National Analysis Report on College Students' Competitions". It became an important chemical engineering-related event alongside the National College Students' Chemical Engineering Design Competition, and was also one of the A-class events recognized by the school.
The competition is divided into six regions: North China, Northeast China, East China, Northwest China, Southwest China and Central South China. This year, the competition in the North China region was participated by 57 teams from 5 universities in 5 provinces and autonomous regions including Beijing, Tianjin, Shandong, Hebei and Inner Mongolia. The 18 teams that won the special prize and first prize were qualified to advance to the national finals.
