Liaoning Petrochemical University visited college

On May 30, Wang Jilin, Dean of the College of Petrochemical Engineering of Liaoning Petrochemical University, and Professor Long Wenyu came to the college to publicize the recruitment of talents and exchange professional disciplines. Liu Dong welcomed the arrival of Wang Jilin and his delegation, then introduced the development history of the college, institutional personnel, teaching staff, discipline construction, scientific research and other situations, pointed out that the exchanges and cooperation between the two colleges have a long history, especially in recent years, the joint training of graduate students has achieved good results, and hoped that the both sides will continue to deepen cooperation and common development.

He said that the focus of the visit is to exchange experience in applying for degree program, recruiting talents. He introduced to the participants about the basic situation of the college, talent recruitment policy of Liaoning Petrochemical University, college development vision, and other situations. He also answered the students concerns. He pointed out that the University of Petroleum has led the training of talents in the industry, cultivated a large number of high-quality talents, and is eager to join the university of Petroleum and Chemical Technology in Liaoning.

The College of Petrochemical Engineering of Liaoning Shihua University was established in 1950 as a major in petroleum refining. In 1999, the Department of Petrochemical Engineering and the Department of Applied Chemistry were merged to establish a branch of the College of Petrochemical Engineering. In February 2002, after the school was renamed as Liaoning Petrochemical University, the College of Petrochemical Engineering was officially established. Since then, it has experienced four school and department adjustments in 2005, 2007, 2012 and 2019. In the 70 years of construction and development, the college has continuously optimized its disciplines and strengthened its school-running strength. The college has built a number of high-level scientific research and teaching platforms, and now has a national petrochemical experiment teaching center, a national petrochemical virtual simulation experiment teaching center and a large instrument analysis and testing center. It has 11 provincial research platforms such as "Liaoning Collaborative Innovation Center of Petrochemical Industry", "Liaoning Key Laboratory of Petrochemical Catalysis Science and Technology", "Liaoning Special Petrochemical Engineering Technology Research Center", and has 2 national golden courses, 1 provincial Huang Danian Teaching Team, 3 provincial teaching teams, 18 provincial first-class courses, and 5 provincial excellent teaching materials. In 2019, the two majors of Chemical Engineering and Technology and Applied Chemistry were awarded the first batch of national first-class undergraduate major construction points; In 2020, the major of polymer materials and engineering was approved as a national first-class undergraduate major construction point.
