On March 15, the college held the new semester working meeting and discuss key tasks for 2024. The attendees included members of the college leadership team, members of the professor committee, directors of departments (centers), and Party branch secretaries.
During the meeting, the vice dean of the college and the deputy secretary of the Party Committee presented the work assignments for each department. Zhang Yongning, Secretary of the Party Committee, shared the essence of the school's new semester agenda and discussions from the school-level Party secretary meeting, emphasizing the need for all units to engage in learning and effective implementation. He highlighted that in 2024, the College Party Committee will uphold moral education as its guiding principle and prioritize development. The Committee aims to consolidate and expand on achievements in thematic education, capitalize on the occasion of New China's 75th founding anniversary, and concentrate on the core mission of moral education. Additionally, they aim to enhance the party-building and educational brand, improve propaganda and ideological work, strengthen the cultural infrastructure of the college, and advance inspection and rectification activities. Furthermore, they intend to successfully meet Shandong Province's benchmark institution standards for party building, lead the establishment of top-tier disciplines through high-quality party-building efforts, and provide a robust ideological foundation to accomplish the objectives and tasks outlined in the "14th Five-Year Plan".
Liu Xinmei provided full affirmation for the work carried out by each unit in 2023. She analyzed the completion of the school's "14th Five-Year Plan" tasks and challenges, strategized the key initiatives for 2024, underscored essential tasks and objectives in teaching, research, team building, staff training, discipline development, and student management. She also outlined the requirements for execution and progress. Firstly, it is crucial to shoulder the primary responsibility, focus on practical recruitment, and deliver tangible results. Starting from the long-term discipline growth and immediate needs to meet the objectives of the "14th Five-Year Plan", efforts should be made in talent acquisition, impactful projects, results achievement, and overcoming barriers impeding college development. Secondly, thorough planning and preparation are vital, encompassing the systematic renovation of the Guzhenkou Campus laboratory, safety facilities, and cultural development. Adequate ideological readiness for comprehensive relocation, monitoring the ideological dynamics of educators and students, conducting effective ideological support, care, and assistance to ensure safety and stability are emphasized. Thirdly, significant emphasis should be placed on meticulously organizing and carrying out essential tasks such as nurturing teaching and research accomplishments, updating training programs, completing undergraduate reviews and assessments, and constructing high-quality national key laboratories.
The meeting underscored the necessity for the whole college should pay close attention to the implementation of work, focus on development, and endeavor to attain a new phase of growth for the college.
