The discipline of chemistry ranks among the top 1‰ in ESI

On July 14th, Clarivate Analytics released the latest ESI data. Chemistry of China University of Petroleum ranked top 1‰ in ESI, which is the second discipline of our university to rank top 1‰ after Engineering.  

In the ESI data coverage period (January 1, 2012 -- February 28, 2022), China University of Petroleum ranks 157 out of 1,584 institutions in the top 1% of ESI chemistry disciplines, up 28 places from the same period last year, with 19,283 citations increased.  Chemistry has published 6482 ESI Papers and been Cited 97148 times, among which 74 Papers were selected as Highly Cited Papers.  

Currently, the university has seven disciplines ranked in the top 1% of ESI global rankings, which are chemistry, Engineering, Materials Science, Earth Science, Computer Science, Environment/Ecology, and Social Science.  Among them, engineering ranks among the top 2.9 ‰ in ESI, chemistry ranks among the top 0.99‰, and Earth science ranks among the top 1.07‰, which is expected to become the next discipline to enter the top 1‰ in ESI.  

ESI (Essential Science Indicators,  Clarivate Analytics Web of Science (SCIE/SSCI) is a bibliometric analysis database based on more than 10 million bibliographic records of more than 12,000 academic journals worldwide.  It is one of the important evaluation index tools widely used in the world to evaluate the international academic level and influence of universities, academic institutions, countries/regions.
